Situated just outside of Hermanus on the banks of the lagoon, Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is an award-winning working wine farm and eco-destination. The farm holds WWF status and has won many awards for its wines. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Rated as number 53 in the World’s Best Vineyards, our estate is recognised globally for its exceptional offerings.

Our Wines

As one of the closest cool-climate vineyards to the ocean, we produce wines that showcase the place and terroir. Our grapes are estate-grown, handpicked in many cases, crushed and produced in our winery, and bottled on-site. Every glass brings you back home to Benguela Cove. Moody Lagoon Restaurant - Open 7 Days a Week

With an open kitchen and a large contemporary space filled with art and log-burning fires in the winter, Moody Lagoon is the place to visit for a meal that showcases the best of South African cuisine paired, of course, with Benguela Cove wines. For a lighter snack, you are in luck—eye-catching charcuterie and cheese boards, oysters, and fresh seasonal items are available daily. On weekends, we offer breakfast from 8:30 am on Saturdays and brunch from 10:00 am on Sundays. The large outdoor step has views over the estate and the lagoon.

The Tasting Lounge

Open 7 days a week, our Ambassadors are on hand to guide you through a plethora of tastings. Be prepared to be wowed as we take you on our journey from vine to glass.

Luxury Accommodation

At Benguela Cove, immerse yourself in the perfect blend of luxury and adventure. Our eight stunning luxury villas are available for rental, offering a lavish escape amidst breath-taking surroundings. Explore the farm on foot or by bike, or take to the water with boating activities. After a day of adventure, unwind in our exquisite restaurant or tasting lounge. For the kids, our 18-hole adventure golf and splash park provide endless fun and excitement.
